Nine Vape Box Types, Built Around the Device

Nine structures cover disposables, carts, pods, kits and bottles. Each card names what it holds, the closure it runs and the insert inside it — and the order it is the wrong choice for.

The Five That Come Up Most, Side by Side

The five structures that come up most, on the same five points — how it closes, whether it locks, what holds the product, what ships together, and whether it leaves flat. The other four keep their own card above.

Send the Device, Get the Dieline

A photograph, a 3D file or three measurements is enough to begin. A structure is drawn around the device, and the quote is built on the box that came out of it.

Child resistance

Three Closures, Two Audiences

A child-resistant box does a single job: a child cannot open it, and an adult opens it without reading anything first. Three structures here do exactly that — and each answers to a different retail shelf.

01

Push-Button Drawer

The drawer only travels while the button is held. Release it halfway and the drawer relocks; a small hand cannot simply pull the tray out.

Adult
Press the button and pull
Child
The button has to go first
02

Push-and-Slide

A folding blank whose lid stays shut until a tab is pushed inward and the sleeve is drawn at the same moment. It is the closure that still ships flat.

Adult
Push the tab, then slide
Child
Two actions at once
03

Side-Button Tube

A button set into the barrel releases the lid. A cart or a pen travels alone inside, with the barrel itself doing the work of an insert.

Adult
Press the side button
Child
Not where a small hand reaches
Warning & shelf

The Warning Block Is Part of the Dieline

Two things are fixed on a vape carton’s front panel: the warning block and your logo. Both are placed in the cut file before a sheet is printed; neither arrives as an afterthought squeezed into the artwork.

  • United StatesAn FDA-style warning block, sized to the front panel and set in solid color.
  • EU and UKTPD warnings, usually carrying two or more languages on the same panel.
  • CanadaBilingual warnings, with the health-warning block reserved before artwork.

Each quote starts with a question: which market does this box sell in — the United States, the EU and UK, or Canada?

Finishing

Finishing Options for Custom Vape Boxes

Every finish, board and press the floor runs, grouped by what each one actually does to the carton once it is in a customer’s hand.

  • A debossed portrait pressed into a matte black carton

    Blind Debossing

A sunken mark with no ink, for a panel that has to stay plain.

  • A raised floral emboss catching the light

    Blind Embossing

Same die, raised — a logo the hand reads before the eye.

  • A gold foil logo stamped on a black carton

    Foil Stamping

Mirror-bright, so the logo carries across a shop.

  • A color-shifting holographic stamp on a dark panel

    Holographic Stamping

Shifts as the box tilts, and a copy cannot print the shift.

  • Raised gloss catching light across a dark panel

    Spot UV

Gloss raised over artwork only, so the type stays flat.

The one rule. Warning text is always printed in solid color. It is never foiled, glossed or over-laminated, because a warning a customer cannot read in low light is a warning that does not count.

How an order runs

Six Steps to a Signed-Off Pallet

Each step is signed off before the next begins. A single exception is worth knowing early: a change of size or lock after the dieline is drawn is quoted as a new order, because the cut file changes with it.

  1. 01

    Send the device

Sample, drawing, or a length, width and height.

  2. 02

    Pick a structure

One of the nine, or a call to talk it through.

  3. 03

    Settle the lock

Child-resistant, magnetic, or none at all.

  4. 04

    Draw the dieline

Cut file drawn, with the warning block and logo placed.

  5. 05

    Approve a sample

White dummy for fit, a printed dummy for color.

  6. 06

    Run the batch

Pallet matches the sample that was signed off.

Where they sell

Six Channels, Six Cartons

The same nine structures leave the floor for six very different counters, and the counter decides more of the drawing than the product does.

Customer voices

What Buyers Say After the First Run

We had been sent 7 mockups from other suppliers, and every one of them treated a pen as a plain rectangle. The dieline that came back here had the mouthpiece standing up and the warning block already sitting inside the panel; nobody had managed both for us before. That single drawing is what moved the account.

The whole flavor range now runs on a single box size and a single print pass. The panel is identical across all of them, so the warning is never the part someone forgets to update in a rush, and the warehouse holds one carton size instead of a shelf of them.

Because the cut file is kept on the same reference, a 12th flavor was artwork only. No new tooling, nothing to re-approve beyond the print, and the sample the brand signed still describes what arrives on the pallet.

A carton holds 200 carts and every one comes out of it standing the same way up. That is a small thing until you are holding a tray of them at a counter with a customer waiting. The boxes we had made elsewhere never did this.

Nobody on this counter has needed a demonstration of how the lock opens. It opens the way it was described on the call, in a single movement, so a customer asking for a cart gets served without a pause.

Since the insert changed, 90 cases have shipped and not one has come back with a scuffed panel. The carts used to shift in their boxes and arrive scratched across the glass; that complaint has simply stopped.

FAQ

Straight Answers, Before You Commit

1Does the inside of the carton take print?

Yes. Inside print and a printed liner come off the same press, so the reveal under the lid is a printed surface rather than bare board.

2Can you match a color I already print?

Yes. Send a printed sample or a Pantone number and the ink is matched to it; the reference stays on file, so a later run comes back the same.

3If my market changes its warning text, does the box need a new dieline?

No. The keep-clear zone stays where it was drawn, so new wording is a plate change on the same cut file — no second dieline and no new tooling.

4Will the carton go in the paper recycling?

Paperboard, greyboard and a paper-card insert all go in with the paper. An EVA insert is the one part that does not.

5We have a box we like already — will you copy it?

Send the empty carton and it is measured and drawn back up. Worth doing when the structure works and only the print or the board needs to change.

6Where is the box made?

On a single floor in China, then packed flat or formed depending on the structure.
